INDIBA therapy is a modern physical method used in many health problems of dogs and cats. In this article we gather the most important indications - when it is worth considering and why it complements other elements of rehabilitation so well. To learn how it works, see our article on how 448 kHz radiofrequency works.
How does INDIBA work, in brief?
INDIBA uses a frequency of 448 kHz that stimulates microcirculation, cellular metabolism and ion exchange in the tissues. The result is better oxygenation and nourishment of the cells, faster regeneration and reduced pain and swelling. The therapy can be carried out atermally or with controlled warmth, depending on the stage of the problem.
Orthopaedic conditions
One of the main areas of use is problems of the locomotor system: chronic pain, muscle overload and degenerative joint disease. INDIBA helps ease complaints and supports tissue function, so the dog moves more willingly - which in turn strengthens the muscles that protect the joint.
Tendon and ligament problems
The therapy supports the regeneration of soft tissues, so we use it in injuries and overload of tendons and ligaments. Improved blood supply and metabolism in the damaged area promote healing and shorten the return to fitness, especially combined with appropriate exercise.
Recovery after surgery
After orthopaedic and other surgery, INDIBA supports anti-swelling processes and peri-operative healing. It helps reduce pain and swelling, allowing proper rehabilitation to start sooner and more comfortably. It is a frequent element of the plan after knee or spine surgery.
Working with swelling and scars
The therapy supports drainage and the reduction of swelling and improves the flexibility of scar tissue and adhesions. A flexible, well-supplied scar restricts movement less and is less likely to become a source of secondary complaints.
When is INDIBA not indicated?
Like any physical therapy, INDIBA has contraindications - such as cancer in the treatment area, pregnancy or implanted electronic devices. That is why the treatment is preceded by a qualifying assessment in the clinic.
